Big Five Personality Dimensions
Deep dives on each dimension — what it measures, what high and low scores look like in real behavior, and how to work with your score.
Openness to Experience
The curiosity dimension.
Openness measures how strongly you seek out novel ideas, art, sensations, and ways of seeing — versus preferring what is familiar, proven, and concrete.
Conscientiousness
The follow-through dimension.
Conscientiousness measures how reliably you plan, persist, organize, and finish — versus how flexibly you live, react in the moment, and trust improvisation.
Extraversion
The social energy dimension.
Extraversion measures how much you gain energy from social interaction, stimulation, and assertive action — versus how much you gain energy from solitude, depth, and quiet observation.
Agreeableness
The cooperation dimension.
Agreeableness measures how much you default to cooperation, empathy, and trust — versus how much you default to competition, skepticism, and self-interest.
Neuroticism (Emotional Stability)
The emotional reactivity dimension.
Neuroticism measures how strongly and frequently you experience negative emotion — anxiety, sadness, irritability, self-doubt — versus how reliably you stay on an emotional baseline.
